There is something about fall that just makes us want to throw on a cozy sweater and indulge in some tasty treats. Whether you’re going out for a stroll around Nita Lake or heading home to get under the covers, Creekside has some delicious goodies to fill your belly.

Nothing says a fall in Canada like good ol’ maple syrup. A Canadian classic, and in our opinion, the perfect vegan glaze for our cinnamon buns. We use maple syrup from Pefferlaw Creek farms, made here in Canada in Uxbridge, Ontario. We mill the flour for our cinnamon buns in house using Canadian wholegrain. As you can tell, we like to support local as much as we can!
Our vegan cinnamon buns are hand rolled and baked fresh every morning. They are made from sourdough, which is fermented for 18hrs before baking, which helps them get nice and fluffy, plus gives them their characteristic taste.
And the last component that makes our cinnamon buns one of the best fall treats is, of course, the cinnamon. The sweet, earthy taste of cinnamon exudes fall energy. We use Wild Tusker Organic Ceylon Cinnamon, which is different from your cheap grocery store blend. And even better, Wild Tusker donates some of their profits to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage.
The fall means it’s carrot harvest season here in Canada, so what better time to indulge in some nutty, soft carrot cake? We get our carrots from Helmer’s Organic Farm in Pemberton, which is only an hour up the road, so you won’t find a fresher farm to table carrot cake anywhere else!
Adding toasted walnuts to the mix helps create some extra texture, rounds out the flavour profile and provides a nice dose of plant-based omega 3s! Speaking of plant-based, our carrot cake is also entirely vegan, so you can indulge without the guilt.

But what about the most important part of any carrot cake? The cream cheese icing. Don’t worry, we’d never forget the pièce de resistance of any carrot cake. We make our own version of cream cheese icing with tofu-based cream cheeze, vegan butter and icing sugar. You can even order it online for use on your own baked goods.
Move over Starbucks, there’s a new pumpkin spice latte in town (and this one is made with actual pumpkin). If you’re craving a beverage to warm up your bones in Creekside, skip Starbucks and come to BrED instead.

Dark chocolate is perfect for the fall time. It’s rich and bitter flavours help to warm you from the inside out. Our Dark Chocolate, Coconut, Oat and Sea Salt Cookies have always been crowdpleasers, but there is just something special about dipping them into your coffee or some warm, plant-based milk when it’s chilly outside.
