Whistler’s Extreme Sports Activities

The mountainous landscape lends itself to extreme sports, making Whistler the perfect place to seek some thrills! Aside from skiing and snowboarding, here are some of the other exhilarating activities you can participate in:

  1. Ziptrek
  2. Superfly Ziplines
  3. Mountain biking
  4. White water rafting

1. Ziptrek

Whistler is home to The Sasquatch®, the longest zipline in all of Canada and the US! And that’s not all, this is just 1 out of 11 individual zip lines that make up the Whistler-based zipline tours managed by Ziptrek Ecotours. Take a lift to the top and fly through the canopies, taking in the stunning scenery whilst experiencing the adrenaline rush that comes with it! Oh, and the guides will deliver knowledge bombs about sustainability and Whistler’s beautiful ecosystem as you work your way around the ziplines.

2. Superfly Ziplines

Fancy adding a 4×4 ride to your ziplining itinerary? Do just that with Superfly Ziplining to off-road climb to the top of Rainbow Mountain and reward yourself with panoramic views as you zoom from summit to summit. Elevated boardwalks and forest paths connect the rest of the thrilling zip lines, giving you a bird’s eye view of Whistler’s breathtaking landscape!

3. Mountain biking

Home to the world’s biggest and best downhill bike park, Whistler BC has a huge selection of mountain bike trails ranging from moderate to advanced in difficulty level. Riders come from all over the world to experience breathtaking views as they traverse the twists and turns of Whistler’s slopes.

4. White water rafting

Thrill-seekers rejoice! Thanks to the heart-pounding rapids and hair-raising bends, Whistler is the perfect destination for adrenaline junkies. White water rafting gives you access to some of Canada’s most inspiring wilderness, including dormant volcanoes, colossal glaciers, cascading waterfalls, ancient forests, and the local flora and fauna. If you’re looking for something more gentle, then you can also opt for a more family-friendly boat ride along the calmer waters of Cheakamus.
